ning Miss England Alize-Lilly Mounter visited Brent Knoll Primary School earlier this month to meet the children who will benefit from the funds collectively raised by all of the Miss England contestants through the national heats held this year.

Brent Knoll is a school for children with language and communication difficulties and associated social and learning impairments, and it was chosen as a Miss World Beauty with a Purpose fundraising recipient after the headmaster completed an application form.

The money will be used to aid the development of children at the school. A huge amount of specialist equipment is required at the school and staff are also in desperate need of a new minibus to transport the children around and take them on school and swimming trips and other outings. They are also hoping to build a fully functional sensory room complete with special lighting, a sound system and equipment - all of which will help with the children’s specialist development.

Alize-Lily Mounter said, "Raising money for charity is the real drive behind the Miss England, and Miss World competitions. I recently took a trip to Ghana and Kenya to help raise awareness of the causes that the Miss World Organisation is supporting over there and it is important that people realise what the competition is really about."

She added, "It was lovely to meet the children personally and talk to the headmaster about how the Miss England finalists' charity money will benefit the children at the school."

The headmaster of Brent Knoll said, "We are really grateful to Alize for taking time out to come and visit the children. It means a great deal to them and us and the money raised by all the finalists in Miss England this year will go a long way to making a huge difference to the lives of the children at Brent Knoll. We really are very grateful to everyone for all their efforts.
